Stacy GregoireParticipantThe phrase “stay in your lane” means that we are not to move out of the gifts and callings given to us by God. Romans 11:29 says that those gifts and callings of God are without repentance meaning that they won’t change. It is applies to ministry because we are all called to in serve in certain areas of ministry. We may feel like we want to serve in some aspect of the ministry but that may not be where God has called us to serve or minister. This video is beneficial to someone serving in ministry for two reasons. First, if they are thinking of going into another area of ministry it will cause them to examine their motives. Is ambition involved or is it God promoting me? Secondly, it will encourage them because their greatest blessings will come when they stay and remain steadfast where God has had placed them.

Lilly ChalwellParticipantStacy, it is so important that one stay in his/her lane, by staying in your lane it helps toward the growth of the body of Christ. Causing the body of Christ to mature, to become perfect and to be build up into Christ.

RhondaParticipantStacy your response reminded me of Ephesians 4:16. “He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” (NLV) God is the creator of everything and he knows what he is doing and as believers we should trust him.

Marita SmithParticipantThe phrase “Stay in your lane” actually means staying in that particular office that God call you to operate in. Sometimes we may feel like we are call to be in another office that God did not call us to be, or we start looking at other people and trying to be like them, that happens because we have become discontented with who we are.
It applies to ministry because God is the one who calls and if he calls you, he will equip you with everything that you need to fulfill that call on your life. We are to settle down in, and take residence in that calling and operate in the peace of God of what he called us to do.
We are to serve God in any area, place or office that he calls us to serve. Paul is a perfect example of wanting to serve in another office, because he wanted to be in the synagogue preaching to the Jews, but God wanted him to preach to the Gentiles. The video is beneficial to someone serving in the ministry because it serves as a guide that if you want the best that God has for you and if you want to experience his ultimate success, except what he has call you to do and do it to the best of your ability. As you are faithful to where he has called you he may just promote you to another office; and if he doesn’t, just thank him for giving you the opportunity to serve where he has called you, and if ambition doesn’t set in you will be fulfilling God’s perfect will for your life.

Roxanne RhymerParticipantYes Marita, I agree, God will equip us with what we need to carry out our purpose. That also means strength, to stay in our lane and not to faint. We are to work our gift with all our might and serve Him with all our hearts. If He promotes us then so be it, but even if He doesn’t we should still carry on with joy.

Minister, Sherri AbbottKeymasterMarita, you are right we do not have to imitate other be can just be ourselves. Our unique talent and gifts will be a blessing to others when we learn to just be ourselves.

Lilly ChalwellParticipantThe phrase “stay in your lane” actually means, stay in the calling God called and anointed you for. It requires one to abided and take up residence, stead fast and unmovable. This phrase applies to anyone who’s in the ministry, as it’s important and beneficial to the growth of the body of Christ. However, one may try to intrude in another’s call, this has hindered many from fulfilling God’s divine call for their life. Thus, if you are not in the perfect will of God, you are an open prey for Satan, a place where he will have a field day with you. That’s why many ministers live and die, and never get into the first phase of the ministry God has for them. God wants us to be faithful to our calling; you may have struggle, but settle in your heart, who God called he anointed and equipped. As a minister, one must be faithful and content to the gift that God blessed he/she with.
-
January 19, 2016 at 9:50 pm #7195
Monica HarriganParticipantLilly, I agree with you concerning how some Minister never gets past their first phase because they didn’t remain in their calling. They intruded into other offices or allowed their ambition to misguide them and cause them to leave the office God called them to. Not staying in your lane is detrimental to the body of Christ.
-
January 20, 2016 at 11:10 pm #7220
Roxanne RhymerParticipantWe must be faithful to our own callings. God will reward us for our faithfulness. Even if He never chooses to change anything, just think of how blessed we are to be able to serve!

Minister, Sherri AbbottKeymasterLilly, your are right your life does depend on you remaining in your call. In your calling there is divine protection.

January 19, 2016 at 9:45 pm #7193
Monica HarriganParticipantThe phrase “Stay in your lane” actually means to not be moved from the office God has called you to. According to I CORINTHIANS 7:20 “Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called”. Abide means to rest…take up residence…follow…uphold….accept. It applies to ministry because it is God who has placed the call on your life regarding what office you operate in. He needs you in that office because you were anointed for a particular office.
This video is very beneficial to someobe serving in the ministry because once God has called you to a particular office He wants you to remain there…rest in your calling…uphold your calling so that you can grow and prosper in that calling. Staying in your lane allows you to operate at your maximum potential which allows the body of Christ to prosper.
-
January 20, 2016 at 12:08 pm #7199
Marita SmithParticipantYes Monica staying in your lane is very important because there is where you will receive God’s ultimate blessings doing exactly what he calls you to do, Who God calls he equips and anoints for that particular office. As you say we are to take residency, and remain there, and in turn it would bring growth and prosperity to the body of Christ.

Donna RileyParticipantStaying put can be difficult at times especially when you see others passing you by. Still faithfulness is what God desires and the ministry is all about what God wants.
-
January 21, 2016 at 8:18 am #7235
Minister, Sherri AbbottKeymasterDonna that is so true, when you see others passing you by you do wonder what’s up with me God. But just because someone passes you it does not mean the elevation was from God. Ambition does that it will push you out there before your time.
-
January 21, 2016 at 8:41 am #7247
Minister, Sherri AbbottKeymasterMonica, that what you want to do, operate at maximum potential in you ministry/calling. You never want it to be that you held back. Give it everything you got!!!

-
January 20, 2016 at 12:55 pm #7202
Stacy GregoireParticipantI agree with you, Marita, that when God calls you He also equips you with all that you will need to be successful in that office. When things become difficult, or we face challenges we are to stir up the gifts that God has equipped us with and encourage ourselves. God will reward faithfulness.

January 20, 2016 at 4:06 pm #7207
RhondaParticipantThe phrase “Stay in Your Lane” means to accept what God has called you to do. It is not for us to decide the gifts and calling on our lives, but up to God. This phrase applies to ministry because it is important that the body of Christ be edified by the gifts God places in the Church. This video serves as an important reminder to person’s serving in the ministry because it can be tempting to step out into a ministry based on a need or own desires without clearly hearing from God and not receiving God’s perfect will. Ministry gifts are the tools God uses to build up the Church and God works through the spiritual gifts in the Body of Christ.

January 20, 2016 at 11:06 pm #7218
Roxanne RhymerParticipantThis is true Rhonda. Just think God placed you in a certain “lane” but you are too busy stretching towards another’s “lane,” Think of the people in the body that you were supposed to impact and touch but you were so distracted that they missed out. The missed out on their edification because you were too ambitious.

Minister, Sherri AbbottKeymasterRhoda it is such a relief to know that it is all up to God and all you have to do is stay connect to him and follow him. He leads you every step of the way in his perfect will.. Glory!!!

Roxanne RhymerParticipantTo me the phrase, “stay in your lane” means to work with the gifts and anointing that God has blessed you with; in the office and/or ministry that he intended for you to be in. Just like Paul, people at times have their own idea as to how they should serve God. They look at others and dream of themselves in that office or ministry- “Lane.” They become discontent with what God has called them too. We as believers must fight this. We must spend time in prayer to hear clearly what God has called us to do and where He called us to do it. We must be content to serve God in the manner that He has intended for us to serve Him. It does not matter if we are called to the nursery, boardroom or the pulpit. What matters is if we are doing that job with all of our heart. Are we working in that position as unto the Lord? We need to purpose in our heart to do just that. Serve God with all our heart.
This video can be very beneficial to a person serving in ministry because it can serve as a “pick me up” when they are being challenged with discontentment, ambition or even envy. It can help to remind them to never give up or walk out of the will of God. It will remind them to dig in and serve God even more in their own lane.

Donna RileyParticipantYou are so right Roxanne. Also there are times when in your ministry if you don’t see yourself as you envisioned by a certain time, then you start to question if you have gone wrong or doubt the call was made. It can be difficult especially if you have been at it for a long time and greatly desire a change.
-
January 21, 2016 at 8:21 am #7239
Minister, Sherri AbbottKeymasterRoxanne, great example. Paul love the Jews and he wanted to minister to the Jew but they rejected him Why? Because he was called to the gentiles.

Donna RileyParticipant“Stay in your lane” means where ever God has placed you, you are to stay on that course until God tells you to change. To “stay in your lane” means to stay focus, faithful and become an expert in the office in which God has called you to and anointed you. We must remember God does not reward an office, name or title, He rewards faithfulness.
It applies to ministry because where God puts you is where He needs you to be. The particular lane or area of ministry that you were assigned to was reserved for you and it has great responsibilities, purpose and rewards. The most important thing in ministry is fulfilling God’s will for our lives. Someone somewhere needs you to be in that particular ministry at that particular time and you are the one that God has equipped to handle the assignment.
This video is beneficial to a person serving in ministry because if that person questions their position, this video will cause them to stop and examine whether they are in the right place. If they are not, then they should ask the Holy Spirit to help them reposition themselves and get back in the will of God. If they are in the right place then the video encourages them to live in, settle down, take up residence in that calling, stay steadfast or faithful and continue on course until God changes their course. It is very important that they do not make any changes, but to wait on God so that they can fulfil God’s perfect will for them.

Minister, Sherri AbbottKeymasterThat’s Good Donna, you do not become an expert in your call over night. You have to grow into it and that comes by spending time in the word and prayer, being obedient to God. Phil 1:6 he that has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. God will complete what He has begun in your life.
