Sister, Denise DonadelleKeymasterPeople fail to walk in the Authority God has given to us is because they are ignorant to the power that was given to them when they accepted Christ into their hearts. Second is unbelief of God’s promise that we can have what we say, and thirdly they do not study the word to learn how to walk in their authority. From creation God had a plan for us when He created the animals before he created man. God told Adam in Genesis 1:26, And God said, Let us make man in our image after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Authority was given to us from creation and we as believers need not be defeated, but walk in our Authority.

Monica HarriganParticipantRoxanne, you are so correct!! We must know who we are and the power that has been given to us. As stated in The Triumphant Church many are in a defeated Church. They are ignorant of their place in Christ. They are unaware of the power that has been given to them, hence they can’t walk in their God given authority. Doubt is another, I have been guilty of doubting God’s Word in ALL areas of my life. Not anymore though….as I want to go higher and higher!!!

Monica HarriganParticipantSome of the things thag can cause us to not walk in our authority is lack of knowledge of God’s word. According to Luke 10:19 we were giving the power over serpents, scorpions and all power of the enemy. There are many scriptures that tell us of the authority and how to operate in it. However, if one doesn’t have the Word on the inside of him, he will not know of the authority that has been given to us from the beginning of creation. Another example is not having confidence in God’s Word and how to apply it to your life. Many hear the Word but are not doers of the Word. Not knowing who we are in Christ once we’ve accepted Him into our hearts and as the leader of our lives. We are a royal priesthood, a little lower than Angels. We are a peculiar people and we have all power and authority given to us as heirs of His kingdom. I am ever greatful that I have been taught and I’m still being taught the unadulterated Word of God so that I can stand in my rightful place and operate in the authority that is mine. Glory to God!!!

Lilly ChalwellParticipantMonica, I really believe that the believers’ biggest hindrance in not using their authority is lack of knowledge. It’s impossible to walk in something you don’t know you have.

Donna RileyParticipantMonica well said. You just described me before this class. I certainly was part of the Defeated Church, but no more. Now I am aware of who I am and what my rights are in Christ Jesus. It is a wonderful place to be. Thank you Father God.

RhondaParticipantI believe that some things that can cause us to not to walk in the Authority God has given us are: lack of patience, lack of knowledge and self condemnation. It’s easy to say that we have faith and belief for the now, but do we patience for the long haul? The Bible says that the trying of our faith worketh patience.
Also, if we lack the knowledge on what the Word of God says that we are as believers in Christ Jesus, then we cannot reap the benefits of a believer by walking in our Authority.
Finally, the enemy also tries to remind and accuse us of our past sins and if we don’t renew our minds with the Word of God we will continue to walk around in self condemnation. When we walk in self condemnation we don’t go boldly to the throne of God and we don’t exercise our Authority because we may feel self convicted.

Stacy GregoireParticipantThe first thing that will prevent someone from walking in their authority is them not knowing that they actually have authority in Jesus’s name. The Bible says that people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge. This goes hand in hand with the saying that knowledge is power. If you don’t know you have something, you can’t use it and you can’t act on it. Doubt and unbelief will also stop a person from walking in their authority. You have to know that you know that you know that your authority in Jesus’s name and the power that comes from the Holy Ghost is changing your situation even when you don’t see an immediate manifestation. Fear can also stop someone from walking in their authority. This can be fear of what other people will say when you start speaking The Word over something or someone and commanding situations to change. We have to be delivered from what other people will say or think.

Marita SmithParticipantStacy I must agree with you that you have to know that you have to know first of all that you do have authority. Yes, you can’t use something that you don’t know you have, and its because of the lack of knowledge. Not knowing will keep you from exercising your authority and not walking in the blessings that are available to you….

Donna RileyParticipantStacy, you have said how important this class is to you and I can see a change in you already. You are shy and easy going, but I believe in you and know that now that you are armed with this knowledge and information on authority, we are all going to see a big change in you. You are aware of your place in Christ and with that came confidence.

Lilly ChalwellParticipantSome believers fail to walk in their authority because of lack of knowledge. It is imperative that believers join churches that Pastors preach and teach on the believer’s authority. I remember growing up in the Lutheran Church, at no time have I heard the pastor preach or teach on the authority Jesus command us to walk-in. In order to walk in our authority we have to be one that read and study the Word of God, and have a Pastor who believe in the authority of the believer, as, the Word of God is our final authority.

Marita SmithParticipantI believe one of the things that would prevent some believers from walking in their authority is that they don’t know who they are in Christ, so they can’t walk in the authority that was transformed to them through Jesus death burial and resurrection when they received Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. You can’t use something that you don’t know that you have, the word of God says my people will be destroyed for the lack of knowledge. Unbelief and ignorance are also contributors for someone not walking in their authority, so they will be constantly be defeated by the enemy. Meditating and feeding upon the word of God daily until they become a part of our consciousness will help us to walk in our authority that we can live that victorious, abundant live that God has already ordained for us.

Donna RileyParticipantTo be effective in the earth realm, one has to walk in the authority God has given them. What can stop us from being effective in this earth realm and therefore being defeated is not having a personal relationship with God. Without spending time with God, knowledge and information cannot be imparted to the individual. We will therefore be operating in ignorance of our rights. Also not walking in the dominion that God has given us can come from sin. If we are constantly sinning as well as making excuses for our sins, this will give Satan authority over us. Doubt and unbelief can also hinder our authority because we are not operating in faith. To perform signs, wonders and miracles, we must have faith in what God has said about us, that is, to have dominion over every living thing on the earth.

Monica HarriganParticipantDonna, for a lack of knowledge people perish. That applies specifically for Believers. We can never walk in our authority if we’re ignorant to what’s available to us. Time with God and in His Word equips us in living victoriously.

Stacy GregoireParticipantLilly,l also went to a church where the authority of the believer was never mentioned, never mind taught. In short, we were powerless to deal with whatever the devil threw at us. I thank God for Word of Faith and our pastors so that I was able to receive teaching kin this area and receive all that God has provided for me.
