      Good day, Students:0e3089631_1396967733_believersauthority628

Welcome to the Authority of the Believers class.  For the Week 1 Forum respond to this questions:

What do you think your authority is in Christ?  Really think about it. Give me two complete paragraphs.  Remember to respond to at least one of your classmates post.  Blessings

Hi Students,  Everything that we obtained in the Kingdom of God is based on what Jesus did on the Cross.  He has the keys to death, hell and the grave.  He overcame so we overcome.  He has given us delegated authority in the earth.  He said in Matthew 28:18-19 “…All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore…”  Okay I opened the door.  Can wait to see what else you got.  Blessing.

God created man to have dominion in the earth, to replenish and subdue it. Adam’s sin gave satan a stronghold of sin and death in the earth from which man was unable to escape. When Jesus died on the Cross he took back from satan everything that Adam lost. However, Jesus knew He was going back to be with God in Heaven so delegated His authority to us on earth.
This means that if we are in Him we can do what He did using His name as the back-up or power by which it will be done. If my son tells my daughter to wash the dishes, they shall remain in the sink. But if he says, Mommy said wash the dishes, she’s moving because my name was invoked as the authority. Jesus healed people of all manner of sickness and disease, he cast out devils, he controlled nature and so much more. Because we are in Him we have the authority to do what He did.

This is true Stacy. Because your son used the authority your name carries in your home (or kingdom) your daughter moved to complete the assignment. This is the same concept using Christ name. We know his name is the greatest authority in heaven and in earth. It commands attention and it gets the job done. This study and understanding makes me feel more confident in my ability to accomplish the task God has given me. It is an awesome feeling!!

Hi Stacy what a great comparison. It is true if your son just said do this or that Jasmine probably won’t move but using mommy said would definitely get results. It is the same with the name of Jesus. Great!!!!

Luke 9:1-2 says, Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. My authority in Christ comes first with knowing which government or kingdom rules and regulations I operate under. Knowing who the supreme authority is and knowing that He laid everything out is understanding authority. Christ while here on earth was under authority. He said and did only what the Father told him to say and do John 12:49. Mathew 16:19 says …and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. This is kingdom authority. Once you become a believer, the power, authority and dominion to close any gate of the enemy in your life and the lives of others is now your birthright. To possess any gate of the kingdom of darkness whether it is alcoholism, prostitution, obesity, homosexuality, etc. whether it is over a community, city or nation is the authority we were given as followers of Christ.
Because Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior, we are joint heirs with him. This means that the power (authority) that was given Him in heaven and in earth is also available to us. Satan’s greatest deception is to keep the believer from knowing who they are. Satan tries to tell us we are something we are not or we don’t have what we already have. This is a bondage technique that has worked on the church for quite a while, but today we are learning the truth about ourselves. John 8:32 says… and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free. We have the ability to heal only those who have the faith to receive. If this is so then why are we not seeing more miraculous healings? The problem comes because we are not releasing the power or as Creflo Dollar said, “turning on the switch.” When Jesus dealt with sickness or demonic possessions He commanded these things to leave the person. Jesus did not ask God to do it; instead Jesus showed us it was our responsibility using the authority in His name to get the job done. If we want to move in the plan of God or fulfill the plan of God for our lives we are going to have to know something about and understand our authority. For us to have authority we are going to have to be submissive to authority. The higher up we rise whether it is power or finances the more submission we are going to have to have. To possess this authority in Christ we are going to have to have faith in His name and carry that name in our heart.

Donna you made a very important point that Jesus only said and did what God told him. As believers we too should live as Jesus did. Also we have to know that Jesus came to gave us back the authority that Adam gave away. Like you said Faith in the name of Jesus is key.

God originally give Adam dominion over all the works of his hand making him the god of this world. Adam sold out to Satan by committing high treason giving Satan control making him the god of this world. Satan had the right to rule over me until I became a new creature and became the body of Christ. Colossians 1:13 says “who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son” Satan now has no right to rule or dominate me, he lost that right when I became one with God.

All the authority that was given to Christ now belongs to me through him, I have the authority over the devil and can break his power if  he tries to come up against me or the lives of my loved ones. The same authority that’s invested in the crossing guards by the Government to stop the traffic when crossing the children, is the same authority that’s invested in me by the Lord Jesus. God himself is the power behind my authority so the devil and his cohorts has to flee.

Like you stated, “originally first Adam was given dominion” (authority), however, he lost that authority.  But because God love us so much, he did not leave us in that state. Since Adam sold his birth right to the Devil, God created a second Adam (Jesus) in order for us to be reconcile back into fellowship with him, and to regain our position of authority in him.

      • #3942

Great comparison using the crossing guards, Marita. It is good when you can take the word and may it personally. That’s would I love about word of Faith we can always break the word down in layman’s terms so everyone can understand.

When Jesus said, “All authority has been given unto me in heaven and in earth,” and then said, “go ye therefore.”(Matthew 28:18-20), I believe that He literally gave me delegated power over the Earth. When Adam sinned he gave his authority to the enemy, however through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (who died for my sins) that authority was given back to me. Also, the name of Jesus is above every name, so I can use speak and use His name to command things to come to past and line up with the word of God.

I can remember like it was yesterday using my authority to speak life back into my daughter’s body. She had an severe allergic reaction to an immunization shot given to her over this past summer and passed out, hitting her head as she fell to the floor. The nurses could only feel a faint pulse, her eyes were rolled back and she lost all color in her body. I immediately recognized what the enemy was trying to do and got mad that he was attacking my child. I remembered that I had authority in Christ Jesus and I laid my hand on her head and shouted out loud over her covering in her in the blood of Jesus and commanded her to come back to me in the name of Jesus. Immediately, her body jumped as she laid in my arms and she regained consciousness. As a believer in Christ know that I am responsible for exercising my authority through my words and actions everyday. I am thankful that in Christ I was raised to the same high place of authority where Jesus sits and He is sitting at the right hand of God!

Now that’s what I’m talking about Rhonda – back that devil off of your child! Thank God for the fact that you knew and believe God’s word. It is an awesome feeling knowing we have the same power that Jesus has. We must submit to the authority of the Father in order for us to begin and finish this journey of fulfilling the plan God has for our lives.

      • #3939

Rhonda what an amazing testimony. Glory to God!! There is power in the name of Jesus and when we exercise our delegated authority in the Name we should expect something to happen. What did Bishop say this would be a year of visitation, manifestation, and demonstration.

      • #3947

Rhonda, that was great you were able to use your Faith and stand in Authority over that situation.

From in the beginning God have given us authority on this earth, however, that authority was sold to Satan because of Adam disobedience. We were told to replenish, subdue and have dominion over every living thing that move upon the earth. Consequently, we were no longer in control. But God, who is full of mercies and loving kindness see it fit to redeem us out of the slave master hands, by sending his son to die for us reconciling us back into a state of authority.

My authority in Christ is a place of victory. Because of the second Adam (Jesus) I have regain my God given authority. Jesus disarmed the enemy way back at Calvary, and now that I am in Christ and the Holy Spirit live in me, I have been given delegated power over all the works of the devil. John 10:10 reveal the works of the devil, “He cometh not but to kill, steal, and destroy.” This let me to know that, any situation that manifests those work, I have the delegated authority to trample over them. I no longer sit in a place of defeat, but in one of victory.

Lilly, I am so thankful for Jesus dieing at Calvary and giving us a life of Victory! Living the life of a Christian is not one of lack and a down trodden life, but one of Victory, blessings and not cursings, wealth and not poverty, devine health and not sickness. Walking in our authority is our God given right…we must remember to flip the switch!

      • #3941

Lilly that was good, “your authority in Christ is a place of victory.” You are correct we do not sit in a place of defeat because of what Jesus did for us. He has set us in a place of victory not temporarily but permanently. Glory to God!!!

My authority in Christ means to me that I have dominion and control over things and situations of this world;as stated in Genesis 1:28. There’s no fear of bugs, animals, illnesses or diseases. I have control and dominion over these things. I must speak to these things and situations and subdue them. When illness attempts to take over my body I must speak to the illness and drive it out. Illness has no dominion or power to reside in my body.

We were made in the likeness and image of God and must operate as He does. I must walk in my authority that was given to me when Christ died at Calvary. My authority is a gift paid with an awesome cost-the Sacrifice of God’s son, Jesus Christ. To not operate in the authority given to me in my opinion is an insult, as Christ died for me. He wants me to live a victorious life, not one of depression, oppression and suppression but one of Victory as stated in Matthew 8:5-9.

Everyone has made valid points and has the understanding of the authority that was given to us as children of the most high. Its up to us now to exercise and walk in that authority. We can live a life of victory in every area of our lives, as we been given the power and authority over all the works of the enemy, he is a defeated foe, he has no power over us.

      • #3948

That right.Jusus regained authority for us.We not what we used to be.

Rhonda, I agree with you that we have a responsibility to use our authority. So many people, including Christians, are unaware of the authority that we have in Christ. However, because we know and are now growing in that knowledge, we have a responsibility to use our authority to command situations to change for ourselves and others.

      • #3940

Stacy, it is true and so many Christians use the name jokingly not recognizing the power in it.

Donna, like you said Jesus didn’t ask and neither should we. When you ask, it implies that there are various answers. It could happen. It could not. Jesus commanded and expected the desired result to happen and we must do the same. We’re made in His image and likeness and He gave us the authority to do what He did.
